Veteran actor Reema Lagoo died of cardiac arrest at the Kokilaben Hospital early this morning.
She was 59. An integral part of the Hindi and Marathi film fraternity for nearly four decades, Reema was well known for playing the 'mother' character in some of the biggest hits of Bollywood which include Vaastav, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Saajan, Aashiqui, Maine Pyar Kiya and others. Her portrayal of the waspish mother-in-law in the comedy television serial Tu Tu Main Main tickled the funny bone of viewers. She also worked in notable serials including Shriman Shrimati, Naamkaran and Tuza Maza Jamena.
