Mumbai - Aamir Khan's awaited biopic on Mahavir Singh Phogat and his wrestler daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari is scheduled to hit the screens on 23 December 2016.

Aamir, who underwent intense physical transformation during the making of the movie, shared his experiences during the launch of a film that detailed the transformation. Aamir went from flabby to fit in a matter of five months with the help of his trainers and nutritionist Dr Dhurandhar, whom Aamir credits for his toned look in the movie. The shots that display Aamir playing Mahavir Phogat's flabbier avatar were shot earlier and Aamir who gorged on chocolates and ice creams, reached a whopping 97 kilos. He then undertook the daunting task of losing the excess weight to end up looking stunning as the young Mahavir Phogat within a span of five months. Aamir says he also suffered injuries while playing Phogat. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanya Malhotra. Aamir also said he would not promote 'Dangal' on the small screen, and that he would not be seen on the ongoing reality show 'Bigg Boss' either to promote the film. The film does not need such promotions, he told the media.
