Tinsel town’s handsome hunk Laksh who was a part of television shows like Roadies X2, Adhuri Humari Kahani, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil is now all set to essay the character of King Porus in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show Porus. Porus is 21-year-old tall, fair boy who acquires special skills to carry out the action sequences.
Talking about the show Laksh mentioned, “The first emotion that came to my mind while taking up this show, was gratitude. I wasn't able to believe that I would be part of this show and wondered if I would be able to pull it off”.
When being asked about the responsibility as a lead of the show, the actor averred, “Yes there is a big responsibility on my shoulders. If you talk about Siddharth sir or our makeup man even they feel that I (Porus) am the one who is going to lead the show. When I was approached for this character at that time I felt that nobody has played this character ever so if the audience will get to know about Porus then it’s only through me.In future people may not know me by my name but they will definitely remember Porus”.
The role requires Laksh to dedicate 12 hours a day to shoot, and two hours of workout --leaving little time for his personal life. “My training started in April. I learned sword fighting, horse riding, martial arts, rowing, scuba diving, and everything adventurous. I am living the life I wanted to and getting paid for it. I gained weight and muscle too, and transformed my originally lean body”, said Laksh.
Produced by Swastik Productions Porus is Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s visionary who aims to depict the story of Greek conqueror Alexander and Indian defender Porus. Set in 350 BC, Porus is being shot at a lavish set in Umbergaon, Gujarat and will be aired from November 27th.
