‘Half Girlfriend’, being directed by Mohit Suri, features Arjun Kapoor in the role of a Bihari guy named Madhav Jha and Shraddha Kapoor, playing the role of a basketball player who goes by the name of Riya Somani`

The teaser and two motion posters released so far have piqued fans' curiosity, since the last film based on Bhagat's novel 'Two States' was a big hit. The tagline in the title reveals the secret upto some extent -"Dost se zyada, girlfriend se kum". The trailer of the film will be released on 10th April.

Chetan Bhagat’s style of writing has always been a different one and has resulted into the adaptation of four of his six novels. Three of these turned out to be blockbusters, whereas one didn’t create much of a ripple at the box office. The first novel to get adapted was ‘3 idiots’, which was based on his first novel ‘Five Point Someone: What Not to Do at IIT’. The movie that was directed by Rajkumar Hirani struck a chord with the audience.

His second novel, ’One Night @ the Call Center’ was taken up by the movie ‘Hello’ which had superstar Salman Khan featuring in it. Bhagat did not stop here, the next release was ‘Kai Po Che’ based on the novel ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’. Unfortunately, the movie didn’t do that well at the box office but lent an insight into how normal people suffer after a natural calamity.

And then it was ‘2 States’ that depicted the struggle that every other Indian faces during all the mess and chaos that goes in the process of an inter-caste marriage. We are now waiting to see if 'Half Girlfriend' registers equally well at the box office.
