Mumbai - The last rites were performed on veteran actor Om Puri on Friday evening at Oshiwara crematorium. Om Puri had passed away on Friday morning after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 66. Many celebrities from Bollywood attended the last rites and bid adieu to one of the finest actors of the Indian film industry. The last rites began at 6:45 pm and his son Ishan lit the funeral pyre. A large number of Om Puri’s fans took the glimpse of the departed actor. His body was taken to Oshiwara crematorium by an ambulance at around 6 pm. The late actor’s wife Nandita, son Ishan and film director Ashok Pandit accompanied the body. Actors Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Irrfan Khan, Gulzar, Shakti Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Prakash Jha, Pankaj Kapoor, Ramesh Sippy, Shyam Benegal, Sudhir Mishra, Piyush Mishra and others paid tributes to the departed actor. Anil Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Supriya Pathak, Johny Lever, Alok Nath, Ratna Pathak Shah, Vivan Shah, Ila Arun, Kanwaljeet Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Sonu Sood and many others from Bollywood attended the funeral.
