YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has raised a public apology on X on Monday, February 10, for his recent offensive statements in a show being telecast online.

This comes after a complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia for an obscene remark made during the stand-up comedy event "India's Got Latent."

The complaint was submitted to the Maharashtra Women's Commission and the Mumbai Commissioner, demanding strict action against Allahbadia for using abusive language on the show.

The case also names comedian Samay Raina, social media personality Apoorva Makhija, and the show’s producers. The complaint accuses them of inappropriate content. Authorities have been urged to take action against all involved.

In his apology, Allhabadia said that he would never purposefully offend families and that comedy is not his forte. He accepted full responsibility, admitted his error in judgement, and pledged to use his position with more awareness going forward. After asking the film producers to take down the offensive content, Allahbadia concluded, "I'm sorry, and I hope you can forgive me."

He claimed that people of all ages watch the podcast. He further said, "I don't want to be the type of person who disregards that duty. The last thing I would disrespect is a family. I've learnt from the entire experience that I need to use this platform. I swear to simply improve."

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to the controversy. He stated that he was aware of the matter but had not yet watched the clip. He said that while free speech is important, it should not come at the cost of others' rights. He said that rules must be followed and violations should be addressed.

Allahbadia, known for his YouTube channel "BeerBiceps", made the controversial remark during a recent event. He asked a participant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

The comment shocked the panel and audience. Samay Raina, comedian Ashish Chanchalani, and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija appeared stunned.

Journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra criticised the event. He called out "perverted creators" for influencing India’s creative space. He warned that young viewers could easily access such content. He accused the creators of lacking responsibility. He also pointed out that the audience and panel laughed at the remark.

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also reacted. She called the remark disturbing and unacceptable. She dismissed any attempt to pass it off as creativity. She said such behaviour should not be considered cool or normal.
