Tanuj Virwani, often known as yesteryear actor Rati Agnihotri's son, is not one to get bogged down by debacles. Despite the lacklustre show of his last release 'One Night Stand', the lad is moving towards his place under the sun and has successfully bagged 'Powerplay' - a web series based on IPL extravaganza.
Tanuj, who made his debut with Purani Jeans in 2014, is also very active on social media. With 'Inside Edge -Game Behind The Game , an Excel Entertainment production (Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani Venture), Tanuj will be seen playing a lot of cricket. For Tanuj, who has always been passionate about cricket, this is a dream role. He has been through a rigourous training camp which also helped him bond with his co stars (team mates in the series ). The series is already creating ripples for potraying the more scandalous side of the IPL, but Tanuj denies this, saying "It focuses on the tryst of the players with the game and their struggles, though it has shades of romance, rivalry and greed too.''
Sarah Jane Dias plays his love interest in the series, but Tanuj refuses to divulge more. The series will be aired on Amazon Prime and 10 episodes of 45 minutes each will be released at one go. "This series represents the changing face of entertainment where censorship takes a back seat and content is the hero," sums up Tanuj.
He feels censorship is redundant anyway in the world of entertainment today. Will 'Inside Edge -Game Behind The Game ', directed by Karan Anshuman, change the game for Tanuj? We can only wait and watch.
