Famous Bollywood director Vivek Agnihotri has apologised to the Delhi High Court. Vivek Agnihotri had criticised the then judge S Muralidhar for granting bail to accused Gautam Navalkha in the Bhima Koregaon violence case.

Vivek Agnihotri accused Judge S Muralidhar of bias. After this case in 2018, the court had filed a case against Agnihotri. Agnihotri was accused of contempt of court. In this case, Vivek Agnihotri was directed to appear in court on April 10. Accordingly, Agnihotri appeared before the Delhi High Court and apologised.

Delhi High Court has acquitted Vivek Agnihotri of all charges after apologising. “You have respect for the court. You have not knowingly committed contempt of court, therefore we withdraw the notice issued against you. You are being acquitted of all charges," the court said. The next hearing of this case will be held on May 24.

What exactly is the case?

Vivek Agnihotri had tweeted about the then judge S Muralidhar in connection with granting bail to accused Gautam Navalkha in the 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence case. From this tweet, Agnihotri accused the judge of bias. After that, Agnihotri deleted this tweet. In this case, a case was registered against him for contempt of court.
