Bollywood's famous actor Shammi Aunty, who was loved for her roles in several films, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 89 after a prolonged illness. Amitabh Bachchan shared the news on his Twitter handle on Tuesday morning and he expressed deep sorrow.
She was well known for TV show 'Dekh Bhai Dekh'.
Shammi aunty was known for her comic roles which were highly appreciated by the fraternity and fans. She has contributed to the film industry by working in more than 200 films, and some of the hits include Coolie No. 1, Hum, Gopi Kishan, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and others.
Nargis' daughter Priya Dutt tweeted about serious damage to the Hindi film industry and shared an old picture of her mother and Shammi.
Many others from the industry shared the grief about her demise.
