Bollywood’s ‘one-woman army’ Vidya Balan is back and how!
The trailer of her much anticipated film, Begum Jaan, was launched in an event recently in Mumbai. While many of her fans were missing her onscreen after Kahaani 2, Vidya and her team decided to do an early release for the trailer to make her fan-base happy. Present with her was the stellar brigade of women who also accompany her in the film in several pivotal roles.
Produced by the renowned Vishesh films and directed by National award winner, Srijit Mukerji, Begum Jaan (remake of Bengali film Rajkahini) is the story from the independence era, of the strong willed women who fight for their right over their beloved land and property, which unfortunately falls exactly on the Indo-Pakistan border. Begum (Vidya Balan) runs the brothel falls under a trouble when the then rulers decide to take over the land, asking her to vacate. The movie looks into the lives of 11 women who live in a brothel and fight for their right.
The music for the film is given by Anu Malik and the lyrics are penned by Kausar Munir. The film that is scheduled to hit screens on April 14, 2017, and also stars Gauahar Khan, Ila Arun, Pallavi Sharda , Priyanka Sethia, Flora Saini , Ridhima Tiwari, Ravija Chauhan, Poonam Rajput, Chunkey Pandey, Rajat Kapoor and many more.
