Yoodlee Film’s Axone has been appreciated by both the critics and film enthusiasts. After it was screened at Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI 2019), the team is now set for the screening at Austin.  Axone has already made headlines for its simple storyline which is comic and yet bittersweet in nature.

The movie is about a group of friends who decide to prepare an authentic North-Eastern delicacy known as Axone (Akhuni). However, in the course of the preparation, the friends forget to take into account the pungent smell the dish emits which is a huge problem given the restrictive neighbourhood the friends live in.

Indie Meme, an NGO has taken the responsibility for screening Axone in Austin, and the team at Indie Meme aims to bring movies that influence by bringing cultural and social change. The movie was also showcased at the BFI London Film Festival with houseful shows. Axone stars Sayani Gupta, Lin Laishram, Vinay Pathak, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Tenzin Dalha.

Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP Television and Films, Saregama India and Head of Yoodlee Films, said, “It is a privilege to be able to make films like axone which highlights the issue of racism in a humorous manner. Laughing at our problems is a way to acknowledge and eventually resolve them. At yoodlee we strive to make films that leave a lasting impression on the minds of the audiences.”
