IMD predicts rainfall in the next 48 hours in Maharashtra

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in the state. There is going to be moderate rain at various places in the state, while there will be scattered rain at some places. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of hailstorm at some places. There is a possibility of rain in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Central Maharashtra on November 29.

Chance of rain in Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada

According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada. There is a possibility of light rain in Konkan and Western Maharashtra. 

Northeast monsoon has become active in the southern part of the state. Due to the formation of low pressure areas along the South Andaman Sea, unseasonal rains are being seen. Unseasonal rain is expected in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Central Maharashtra for the next two-three days, due to which the concern of farmers has increased. The weather department has predicted rain and thundershowers in Vidarbha's Akola, Amravati, Gondia and Nagpur during the next 48 hours. There will be rain in Central Maharashtra also for two days. Rain will reduce the temperature. The minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next three days. A blanket of fog will be seen at some places.


Chance of unseasonal rain for next few days

Cyclonic wind conditions have arisen along the Arabian Sea. Due to this, there is a possibility of formation of a low pressure belt. Therefore, there will be a possibility of unseasonal rain for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Parbhani, Akola, Hingoli, Amravati, Nagpur, Jalna, Nanded, Gondia. A cyclone is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal in early December, so further changes in the weather are likely in the next few days.
