HC continues stay on cutting down of trees

Mumbai - High Court will continue with its stay order on Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation on cutting down the trees for Metro 3 project. MMRCL had asked HC to lift the stay order stating that the former do not have any other option than cutting down the trees. However, the court denied the MMRC plea. It stated that “just because trees cannot speak for themselves, you will cut them down’. Next hearing will take place on 10 March.

Social activist Zoru Bhathena who filed the RTI regarding cutting down of trees is trying all his energy to oppose the same and to save the environment.
