On Monday morning, Mumbaikars were in for a surprise as heavy rainfall lashed certain parts of the city. There were reports of waterlogging and even BEST buses had to divert routes. In the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 101 mm of rain but the rest of the suburbs in Mumbai were dry and did not witness much rainfall.

Moderate showers are expected in Mumbai and suburbs today, it is expected to continue on and off today till the afternoon after which the intensity will go down.

According to the weather broadcasting body Skymet, isolated spot rain, and patchy showers will continue for the next three to four days over Mumbai and suburbs but the overall intensity of rain will have subdued.

There are chances of heavy rains over Mumbai and suburbs will between August 2 and 5. During that time the temperatures are expected to drop leading to pleasant weather conditions. On and off showers will continue for four to five days therefore the weather of Mumbai is expected to be comfortable and pleasant during the first week of August.

It is also expected that rain activity in Mumbai may pick up in the days to come.
