According to the latest reports, by Friday, June 2, the southwest monsoon could arrive in Goa. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reportedly mentioned that the southwest monsoon will then advance into the Konkan belt that includes Goa and Tamil Nadu, as well as Karnataka in the coming days. It has been reported that the monsoon arrived in Kerala on May 29

In a weather bulletin, the IMD was quoted elaborating on how the conditions are favourable for the further advancement of the southwest monsoon in more areas of the central Arabian Sea, some parts of Konkan, Karnataka, Goa, and Tamil Nadu, amongst other areas. 

Based on accounts, under the influence of monsoon westerly winds from the Arabian Sea, rains are forecasted over states in south India. The weather agency reportedly elucidated that widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning is very likely over Kerala. 

In addition to this, it expects scattered to considerably widespread rainfall over Karnataka as well as isolated to scattered over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu during the next five days.

It has also been reported that isolated heavy rains are anticipated over Tamil Nadu, the south interior of Karnataka and Kerala on June 2. Moreover, squally weather is predicted over Southeast Arabian Sea along and off the Kerala coast.
