Mumbai’s air quality has improved and it has gone back to 'moderate' category nearly after a fortnight.
According to reports, as on Tuesday, December 20, 9 am, Mumbai recorded air quality index (AQI) at 173. Meanwhile, the pollutant PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations were at 82 and 141 respectively.
It is pertinent to note that the city has been recording ‘moderate’ category air quality for the past four days compared to the earlier ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ AQIs.
Moreover, in a sigh of relief, the city for the next couple of days will witness moderate to satisfactory air quality, experts predicted.

The India Meterological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the city and suburbs will see mainly clear sky. Besides, the IMD has predicted that Mumbai will witness temperature drop by month-end.
On Tuesday, December 20, IMD Mumbai’s Santacruz observatory recorded minimum and maximum temperature of 20.5 and 33.5 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Colaba observatory recorded minimum and maximum temperature of 23.2 and 33.2 degrees Celsius. The humidity percentage was nearly 70%.
