Mumbaikars have access to over 200 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) gardens and parks. Ample open spaces in a dense city like Mumbai not only assists in enhancing the green cover but is also appealing to the eyes and helps the society connect.
While the civic-run gardens have developed in leaps and bounds, there still persists a long way ahead. The BMC believes that these parks have developed owing to active, positive and vigilant citizen participation. They even go ahead to encourage locals to visit these public spaces while adhering to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

Citizens now have the opportunity to explore and locate these BMC gardens in the island city virtually. They can do so by searching information using names, scrolling and zooming on a particular area. Apart from this, one needs to activate their current location to find nearby places.
On visiting the website, the user can click on the icons on the top right and view other information. Users have access to summary counts of corresponding amenities and facilities in the vicinity.
Users also have the opportunity to alter the background maps at their convenience. It was recently, after the easing of restrictions that the civic body opened gardens and parks in Mumbai.
