The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai in view of light rain at some places on Friday.
Compared to Mumbai suburbs, the intensity of rain was higher in the city on Thursday. An average rainfall of 223.2 mm was recorded at Colaba centre in 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday to 8:30 am on Thursday. During the same period, 145.1 mm of rain was recorded in Mumbai suburbs.
Due to heavy rains, water has accumulated in various cities, causing flood-like conditions and landslides. Therefore, the National Disaster Response Force has been asked to be ready as the state is receiving heavy rains. 13 teams have been deployed for this.
