Good news! Modak Sagar starts overflowing; One of 7 lakes that supplies water to Mumbaikars

Among the 7 lakes that supply water to Mumbaikars, Modak Sagar Lake started overflowing on July 27, 2023 at 10:52 pm. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation tweeted the same with an updated video.

Modak Sagar is a lake located in Thane district on the Vaitarna River. It has an overflow level of 163.15 meters, making it the second largest of the lakes supplying water to the city of Mumbai.

Mumbai receives its water supply from the seven lakes of Upper Vaitrna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Middle Vaitrna, Bhatsa, Vehar and Tulsi.
