Mumbai Rains: Light To Moderate Rains Likely For Next 48 Hours In City, Suburbs

While Mumbaikars witnessed a bright and sunny day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday, August 22, has forecast light to moderate showers with cloudy skies for the next 48 hours in Mumbai and its suburbs.

While Mumbaikars witnessed a bright and sunny day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday, August 22, has forecast light to moderate showers with cloudy skies for the next 48 hours in Mumbai and its suburbs. The weather agency also forecasted an occasional intense rainfall.

Owing to this, the minimum temperature is also expected to hover around 25°C while the expected maximum temperature is 28-30°C.

Meanwhile, as on August 22 at 8.30 hours, according to the regional meteorological centre (RMC), Mumbai, the Santacruz observatory recorded minimum and maximum temperature at 26 degrees Celsius and 30.5 degrees Celsius respectively with the relative humidity of 80 per cent. Whereas the maximum and minimum temperature recorded at Colaba observatory was 25.8 and 29.6 degrees Celsius with the relative humidity of 83 per cent.

On Sunday, August 21, the temperature was slight lower as the minimum temperature recorded in Santacruz on Sunday was 25.6 °C and the maximum was 28.8°C, also the relative humidity was 81 per cent, while Colaba experienced a minimum temperature of 25 °C and a maximum temperature of 29°C with a relative humidity of 88 per cent.

Therefore, Mumbai recorded a ‘good’ Air Quality Index (AQI) of 14, according to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR).
