On Saturday, October 5, Mumbai Metro Railway Corporation Limited (MMRCL) authorities had started cutting down trees after the case was heard in Bombay High Court. The activists and citizens protested against it intensely and many were detained as well. 

The Supreme Court (SC) had recently directed that a status quo should be maintained and the construction work of Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) car shed shouldn't be stopped. Recently, an image of a banner that has been put up at Aarey Police Station had emerged online.

It stated that it is illegal for people to assemble there and threatened people to go away. Activists stated police are there for people's security and such posters are put up which threaten the citizens directly.
