Irrespective of the fact that Aarey is considered as a forest in official documents or no, for the Adivasis (tribals) at Aarey it will always be something they will look up to. The Supreme Court (SC) has recently ruled out that the next hearing on the Aarey case will be held on November 15 and till then a status quo should be maintained and the construction work can go on.

Mumbai is all geared up to celebrate Diwali, and this year the Adivasis at Aarey will celebrate it a unique way. They have arranged a Laxmi maha pooja for the forest which will be held on Sunday, October 27. The pooja will be held in the Gavdevi temple in Gavdevi pada. 

The pooja will be held to express their gratitude towards the forest as it provides them with clean water and air. Activists at Aarey have offered an invitation to anyone who would like to visit Aarey or meet the tribals. 

Notably, the were also going to do a unique 'sleeping protest' to depict the inaction of the authorities however, it was later called off by the authorities.
