After the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Tree Authority gave a nod to cut 2700 trees in Aarey for the construction of Metro 3 (Colaba- Bandra- Seepz) car-shed, the momentum of protests by the citizens just doesn't seem to end.

The petition was filed by activist Zoru Baththena and Vanshakti's Stalin Dayanand. Celebrities like John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Shraddha Kapoor have extended their support to the movement. There have been a total of 4 protests every Sunday of September which witnessed thousands of citizens at the car-shed construction site in Aarey.

On Wednesday, September 25, students from Al Salam English High School In Powai staged a protest and expressed their discontent about the cutting of trees. The students were accompanied by their teachers and were seen holding placards.
