Tourists now will be able to see male cubs from Thursday onwards. The male cubs Jai and Rudra were born six months ago to Shakti tigress and Karishma tigress at Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Garden and Zoo (Rani Bagh) in Byculla.  Also, penguins born three to eight months ago, Dora, Siri and Nemo, will be seen in the penguin room in the garden.

On February 12, 2020, Shakti tigress and Karisma tigress were brought to Veermata Jijabai Bhosle Zoo from Siddharth Zoo in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Karishma Vaghini gave birth to two male calves on November 4, 2022. Both these calves are 6 months and 7 days old. These calves will be kept with Karisma for the next one and a half to two years. Jai and Rudra are being looked after by the zoo's medical team and are undergoing regular vaccinations and other important check-ups.

Donald and Daisy gave birth to Dora (female) on February 21, 2023, Molt and Flipper gave birth to Siri (female) on October 2, 2022, and on December 13, 2022 to Papaya and Olive gave birth to Nemo (male). Appeal to tourists

At present, the zoo is crowded and the animals in the museum struggle while moving in the cages. Also, some tourists hit the glass with their hands to attract the animals' attention. This disrupts the living conditions of the animals. The zoo administration has requested that the tourists should not indulge in any such behaviour in the excitement.
