City of dreams, Mumbai, is all set to host yet another season of the popular Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. In its 17th year, Lakmé Fashion Week promises a stellar line-up of shows, designers, creative presentations and ideas.
Sanjay Garg, Manish Malhotra, Manish Arora, Ritu Kumar, Masaba, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Gaurang Shah, Anavila, Falguni Shane Peacock, Rahul Mishra, and Narendra Kumar amongst others have come together to present the best of the fashion industry through innovative and inclusive collaborations. These and a lot more will be showcasing their collections from 16th to 20th August 2017, at The St. Regis, Lower Parel.
Since its inception, Lakmé Fashion Week has strived to conquer new heights, promote young talent, take the lead on the digital front, kick-start conversations on beauty and has continued to transform into a global platform. This season too will witness a perfect amalgamation of upcoming talent and the industry’s most established names that will set an unparalleled benchmark of inclusivity, diversity, creativity, technology and fresh energy.
The model auditions travelled to Bangalore and Mumbai discovering 11 fresh faces who are all set to walk the ramp this season. This season, Lakmé Fashion Week also gave one model the chance to go international, with scouts from IMG Models (Paris, London, NY, Milan, Sydney) present on the panel of judges. Kiyara, an 18-year-old from Sangaria, Rajasthan who auditioned in Mumbai was chosen as the winner of the IMG Models Global Contract. The young model will soon be seen on international runways across the globe.
International make-up artist and LFW’s official makeup expert, Donald Simrock will make a return at the upcoming season of Lakmé Fashion Week after a successful session last season. Joining him are hair stylist and make-up artists Sandhya Shekhar and award winning, Yianni Tsapatori.
Highlights of LFW Winter/Festive 2017
Talking about the upcoming season, Purnima Lamba - Head of Innovation at Lakmé said, “Beauty is only complete with care.
