Divyaj Foundation show focuses spotlight on acid attack survivors

The National Sports Club of India and the Divyaj Foundation organised a programme to encourage acid attack victims get a fresh perspective on life.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis with his wife Amruta Fadnavis, Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar, BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta and Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi, Juhi Chawla, Sakshi Tanwar, Sonali Bendre, Divya khosla, Vandana Gupta, Anu Malik were also present at the event. CM Fadnavis announced that the amount given as compensation to acid attack victims is being increased from Rs three lakh to Rs five lakh.

Women and Child Welfare minister Pankaja Munde unveiled a book, Sakshama, which portrays the life of acid attack victims. Munde also said that steps would be taken to ensure stricter punishment to such attackers.
