Mumbai - To help ease transport in the city on ‘Mahaparinirvan Din’, the BEST has decided to run special buses for the faithful who travel within the city from the night of 5 December till 6 December. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's followers, who throng Dadar’s Chaityabhoomi, will be guided by the BEST officers who will be stationed at bus stops. Along with this, information booths will also be set up at Shivaji Park BEST chowky.
This year, the BMC has come up with various types of smart cards for city and suburban travel during the Mahaparinirvan Din celebrations. Also, under the BEST’s ‘Aanand Yatri’ scheme, devotees will get bus passes at half rates from 4 to 6 December.
Followers will get these smart cards at Chaityabhoomi -
City pass - Rs. 40
Suburban pass - Rs. 50
Magic pass - Rs. 70
