Ganesh Mandals have got a big relief regarding the rules of POP. The guidelines for suggesting alternatives to POP are yet to be announced by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. So POP can be used for idols above 4 feet. But for idols less than four feet tall, Shadu soil will be mandatory. Meanwhile, the facility of online registration has been made available to sculptors and idol sellers-storers through 'one window' method from today.

Now the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has provided the facility of online registration for idol makers and idol sellers through 'one window' method. POP idols cause massive environmental damage. That is why, for the last several years, there has been a demand from all walks of life to ban Ganesha idols of POP. Therefore, a question mark has arisen in front of the circles that install tall Ganesha idols and the circles are demanding the government to give an alternative to 'POP'.

Meanwhile, Ganeshotsav is around the corner and the rush of idol makers to get municipal permits has started. This year, the entire process of the BMC will be done online.
