Dadar - Dussehra is round the corner and it is an age-old tradition in Maharashtra to use marigold flowers for decoration and worship. This year, markets are flooded with marigold flowers yet the rates of these flowers are on the higher side. Vendors have purchased marigold flowers at Rs 20 per kilo from farmers but are beig sold at Rs 80-100 per kilo in the retail markets. Though the markets are swamped with marigold, it has not benefitted the consumers nor the farmers who seem to have got the raw deal too.
