The Diwali festival is over and you should keep that Kaju Katli down. And yes, don’t even think about eating up all the sweets and chocolates you received as a Diwali gift. I know it is tempting but also look at your bloated tummy. Not looking cool, right?

Do not fret at all. Follow these five detox tips and feel light as a feather!

1. Water

You read it right. Drink plenty of water as it will help you in flushing out excess sugar and fat. In a day, drink at least two to four litres of water. It not only clears the system but also makes a way for other nutrients to reach out to your organs.

2. Lemon Water

Till now, you must have ignored your mother’s advice of drinking lukewarm water with lemon juice in it. It is time to follow the advice if you want to get away from bloating. Lemons can do wonders with your digestive system and make you feel lightweight.

3. Fruits

You get fruits at every nook and corner of the city and you should not overlook them (at least not now). This is the best option for detoxification as it has essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibers which will surely help you feel good about yourself. In a day, eat 3-4 servings of fruits and make your day more happening.

4. Streamed sprouts

Girls! You should definitely go for this if you are aiming for glowing skin and hair. It also restores the hormonal balance in the body and it also hydrates it at the same time. It not only boosts your immunity but also aids in blood purification. You will end up feeling beautiful and fit, what else does one want?

5. Cucumber

Rush to your fridge, now, and take out those poor cucumbers who were lying unattended. Cucumber helps the body to lose excess water through urination which curbs bloating. As urination is the only way to flush out toxins from our body, eat those cucumbers. You know the procedure, right! Just peel it (or not), chopt and eat. It is as simple as a cake walk.

As these stated ingredients are easily available in the market or at home, don't waste any time and go for it now. Also, tell your neighbours, friends, and relatives to distribute those sweets (which you are eyeing now) amongst poor and go for a detox. Feel fresh and feel light!

Stay healthy, Mumbai!
