The summer is in full swing, and with the temperature heating up, what better way to cool off than with the Tiki Festival, currently ongoing at Hello Guppy!

The all-day Japanese café and bar is paying homage to Hawaii (where you see a lot of Japanese influences in the food and beverage) with a range of Tiki Cocktails and a Tiki-inspired food menu, that will instantly transport you into vacation mode.

On the Tiki Cocktail menu are options like Guppy Colada, passionfruit and mango purees blended with a large measure of white, gold and dark rums, milk, cream and a hint of citrus; Blue Fin Tiki, lemon juice and blue curacao syrup, shaken with a large measure of white rum, pineapple juice and topped with lemonade; and Beach Bum, fresh lemon juice, honey syrup shaken with freshly-muddled lemongrass and starfruit and Bacardi white rum.

To accompany the cocktails, Hello Guppy is offering a Tiki food menu, with options such as Lomi Lomi Taco, a refreshing Hawaiian salad made with diced tomato, white onion, plump avocado, fresh pineapple and lemon juice, tossed together and served on a corn taco shell, with an optional topping of classic fresh salmon or contemporary parmesan cheese; Pineapple and Avocado Poke, a vegan version of the classic Poke dish, made with fresh pineapple, plump avocado, hearts of palm and daikon radish cured in a soy–sesame dressing, served with pickled cucumber and seaweed; Kalua Pork and Cabbage Krokke with Cheese, Hello Guppy’s take on this traditional Hawaiian dish, served hot with spicy mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce; and Loco Moco Chicken, a classic dish made with minced chicken burger patty, served on a bed of steamed sticky rice, with fried egg, grilled vegetables and brown sauce.
