More than a restaurant, an all-day café or a hip watering hole, South Bombay Bar is where worlds collide — and the result is a happy, harmonious space that will soon become your go-to restobar in mid-town Mumbai.

Clean lines, classic marble, dramatic upholstery, lush lighting and the occasional pop of greenery set a delightful scene. Yet, at South Bombay Bar, you can expect a side serving of quirk. “I really like you but I am not crossing Worli to meet you,” reads a sign by the entrance. SoBo’s swish set will nod in agreement, while party perennials from further north may well chuckle at the oft-heard statement.

Worli is where South Bombay starts, hence the name,” says restaurateur Kaushal R. Shah, who helms this sprawling bar and kitchen, along with entrepreneur Gaurav Choksey.

It is our endeavour to offer up a space that fits the bill for formal and casual meetings, and morphs into the perfect place to party post 10:30 p.m. South Bombay Bar also aims to be the ideal place to unwind, no matter where you are travelling from in Mumbai.”

Its appealing ambience aside, South Bombay Bar balances great food and creative cocktails with élan too. Under the capable leadership of Chef Rakesh Talwar (who is acclaimed for his contribution to The Spare Kitchen), South Bombay Bar serves up fusion Indian and Continental cuisine, with its focus firmly on delivering flavour. Master bartender Binny Dhadwal heads up the bar and brings his famous flair to the drinks menu. ‘Gateway of Juniper,’ ‘Mr. Rabbit with Orange Wings’ and ‘Stress Relief’ are his signature creations for South Bombay Bar and will not disappoint cocktail connoisseurs.
