CAPF’s U 19 football talent hunt Tournament 2017

The Central Armed Police force will be jointly organizing the U 19 tournament OORJA under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board. This tournament will be arranged in 3 phases, the first phase to begin in Mumbai from the 2nd May 2017. The tournament will be organized in Mumbai by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and will be inaugurated by the Hon Governor of Maharashtra Shri C Vidyasagar Rao on the 2nd May 2017.

In all 16 teams- 8 boys and 8 girls will be participating, these teams are from Maharashtra, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman and they will play under the chairmanship of IG Western Sector, Mumbai Mr Satish Khandare.

On the occasion of the Curtain Raiser at Cooperage Brand Ambassadors Bollywood Actor Imran Hashmi and Olympian Padmashri Dhanraj Pillai were present. The guest of Honour included Superstar Govinda and Music Director Anu Malik.

Various footballers were felicitated at the function at the hands of double Olympian SS Narayan. The matches will be played at Cooperage and JNPT grounds Nhava Sheva.

The objectives of OORJA include being a part of Mission 11 Million, create fervour for football among youth, select promising players and recruit young and emerging players for the Central armed police forces.
