Indian Cricket Team begins its World Cup 2019 campaign on June 5 but along with it, Indian Football Team marks its journey into the King's Cup after a gap of 38 years. The Blue Tigers will kick off their campaign with an encounter against Curacao. 

However, before the encounter, Croatian player, Luka Modric who was recently awarded Croatian Player of the Year, wished the Indian Football Team luck and congratulated former Croatian player, Igor Stimac for his new position as the Indian head coach.

In response, Stimac congratulated Modric for his achievement and tweeted about the same,

On May 15, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) had announced the appointment of former Croatian footballer Igor Stimac as the new head coach of the Indian football team on a two-year deal. The appointment comes after the team had been devoid of a coach since the departure of Stephen Constantine in January.

India, Thailand, Curacao, and Vietnam are the four participants of the tournament, which will be held in Thailand this week.
