Indian Football has started garnering attention from all around the world. As a result of this, a recent collaboration between Premier League as well as Indian Super League (ISL) resulted in friendly matches between Indian clubs, Mumbai City FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC), along with Premier League clubs, Leicester City FC (LCFC) and Arsenal FC, under the PL-ISL Youth Games 2019.
On March 5, the Junior Islanders faced Leicester City at Reliance Corporate Park, Navi Mumbai football arena and put on a fine display of aggression as the match saw various shots on target by Mumbai City FC (Junior) players. However, the match ended in a draw and none of the teams were able to net a goal.
On the next day, i.e. March 6, the Vishal Mali-led Islanders faced a strong Arsenal squad. Throughout the first half, Arsenal scored two goals and played defensive for the rest of the match. Despite a brilliant effort through the second half, the Junior Mumbai City FC players were unable to score a single goal.
