On Monday, September 27, a special vaccination drive was organized for women across Mumbai by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). However, it has come to light that 1,26,419 women took the shot on the same day.

Taking it to Twitter, State minister Aaditya Thackeray shared the news and said: “Last week, an equal number of women took the vaccine. We are keen to ensure that nobody is left behind in vaccination drive.”

For this vaccination, the facility of taking first and second doses without pre-registration was opened for women at all municipal and government centres. The corporation had organized special vaccination for women for the second time.

Moreover, on the backdrop of the commencement of the school, a special session is being conducted for the vaccination of teachers as well as students of 18 years and above in this session from 9 am to 2 pm. Teachers and students are required to bring the identity card of the respective educational institution. Whereas, inoculation for those coming for the second dose is conducted between 3 pm to 8 pm in all centres.

The first dose will not be given to anyone in this afternoon session, the Municipal Corporation has clarified.
