Navi Mumbai: 121 new cases recorded, Death toll nears 1,000-mark

On November 24, 121 new cases of novel coronavirus were recorded in Navi Mumbai
In addition to this, in the last 24 hours, three patients have died fighting with this disease.

Out of the 121 new cases, 36 patients were from Belapur, 24 from Nerul, 22 from Vashi, 16 from Turbhe, 11 from Koparkhairane, seven from Ghansoli, three from Airoli and two from Digha. According to the civic body, the total number of cases in Navi Mumbai now stands at 47,370. 

Furthermore, in the last 24 hours101 people have made a complete recovery from COVID-19. From Belapur 27 people have recovered, while from Nerul 16, Vashi 12, Turbhe 8, Koparkhairane 11, Ghansoli 7, Airoli 18 and two people from Digha have managed to beat the virus.

So far, 44,973 people have made a complete recovery from Coronavirus in Navi Mumbai and the recovery rate stands at 95 per cent. With the addition of three new deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll for Navi Mumbai has reached 964, while active cases are at 1,433. 

Post-Diwali, the number of cases in the state has increased sharply and Navi Mumbai too is experiencing a surge in the number of cases. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, November 24, Maharashtra reported 5,439 cases of the coronavirus taking the COVID-19 tally in the state to 17,89,800. Currently, there are 83,221 active cases in the state. With 4,086 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 16,58,879.

With regards to India, as of now, there are 91,77,840 confirmed novel coronavirus cases out of which 86,04,955 patients have been discharged with 1,34,218 fatalities being reported. There are 4,38,667 active cases in the country. With 42,314 patients recovering from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the national recovery rate has surged to 93.76 per cent. The country's cumulative tests reached 13,36,82,275 with 10,99,545 samples tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Moreover, the tests per million have increased to 96,871 tests.
