Even though the cost of stents has come down, Mumbaikars are still be looted by hospitals overcharging. The National Pricing Pharmaceutical Authority (NPPA) has receive 30 complaints regarding this between 14th February to 6th March.

This includes 6 hospitals in Maharashtra as well. 11 of the 30 hospitals have been issued a show cause notice and the notices to others will follow soon.

A toll free no 1800111255 is available for anyone who is asked to pay more for these stents, where they can immediately register their complain.

Complaints have been received against KEM, King Edwards hospital, Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, Bhakti Vedanta at Mira Road, Six Singma Medicare and research in Nasik and Pune Hospital and research center.

NPPA is facing another problem as the complainants have not submitted the bills and necessary papers which is hampering investigation.

In case of KEM and Lilavati, the complaints have been found to be fake. But the NPPA has assured that all the hospitals are on the radar for over pricing.
