On Wednesday, February 10, Maharashtra recorded 3,451 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,52,253. Currently, there are 35,633 active cases in the state. With 2,421 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,63,946
More than 30 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,390. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 97.7 per cent, and 2.50 per cent respectively.
Mumbai reported 558 new COVID-19 cases, 476 recoveries and four deaths on Wednesday, February 10, taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 3,13,206. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, there are 5,369 active cases and 2,95,521 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 11,400 in the city. The recovery rate stands at 94 per cent. At present 29,49,675 tests have been conducted by the BMC. There are 147 contaminated zones in slums and chawls while 1,856 buildings are sealed by the BMC.
Meanwhile, India reported 12,923 new cases, 11,764 recoveries and 108 deaths taking the tally up to 1,08,71,294 on Wednesday, February 10. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,05,73,372 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,55,360 in the country. At present, there are 1,42,562 active cases. According to the ICMR, 20,40,23,840 samples have been tested up to February 10. So far, 70,17,114 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
