According to sources, in an effort to boost the timely completion of immunization of senior citizens with regards to COVID-19, the municipal corporation of Thane has set up vaccination centres at 36 places across the area. Moreover, the vaccination for coronavirus has been initiated at four private hospitals.

The names of the vaccination centres are Thane Global Impact Hub, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, Postcovid Center, Mental Hospital, Kausa Hospital, Hajuri, Sahyadri, Ambedkar Bhavan, Wadia, Kisannagar, Rosa Gardenia, Kausa Health Center, Kopri Maternity, Atkoneshwar Health Center, Ayurvedic Health Center, Health Center, Balkum Health Center, c. R. Wadia Health Center, Gandhinagar, Kalwa, Kausa Health Center, Kisannagar, Lakshmi Chiragnagar Health Center, Lokmanya Kores Health Center, Majivada Health Center, Manoramanagar, Manpada, Naupada, Sheel Health Center, Shivajinagar Health Center, Shallow Health Center, Vartaknagar Health Center, Savarkarnagar Health Center and Anandnagar Health Center.

Meanwhile, with Maharashtra experiencing a rise in cases of coronavirus, Thane’s civic body, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) announced a lockdown till March 31. As per reports, the lockdown is to remain in effect across 16 hotspots in the city. Moreover, all the restrictions that were in place during the nationwide lockdown declared earlier post the outbreak of the coronavirus would be in force this time as well.

The Kalwa Ward Committee area in Circle 1 has hotspots in areas of Witwa, Ainagar, Suryanagar, Kharegaon, Chendni Koliwara, Wagle and Srinagar. Circle 2 has hotspots in areas of Lodha Amara, Hiranandani Estate, Hiranandani Meadows Housing Complex and Lokmanya. Savarkarnagar Ward Committee Area hotspots are at Dostanagar, Shivai Nagar, Chorus Tower, Kolabad and Rustomji Vrindavan. However, activities will be allowed in areas outside hotspots, as per relaxation given under Mission Begin Again by the Maharashtra government.
