After a lot of speculations, it has been confirmed that Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. His mother and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor on Tuesday, March 9, shared the news on social media.

Neetu Kapoor took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of Ranbir while revealing the news. She wrote, "Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well."

She also stated that the 38-year-old actor has been in home quarantine, as per BMC rules. She added in the caption, "He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions."

On Monday evening, March 8, Ranbir's uncle Randhir Kapoor had reportedly said that while Ranbir is unwell, however, he was not clear about the nature of his illness.

In December last year, while shooting for 'Jugg Jugg Jeeyo' in Chandigarh, Neetu had tested positive for COVID-19.

On the work front, Ranbir will be next seen in Brahmastra - a film by Ayan Mukerji. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy.

Recently, Alia had shared a couple of stills from the set of Brahmastra wherein she was seen posing in front of a huge idol of Goddess Kali along with Ranbir and Ayan.
