On Tuesday, August 17, Maharashtra recorded 4,408 fresh cases of the coronavirus whereas 5,424 people have been cured. Meanwhile, 116 patients have succumbed to the disease.
Moreover, a total of 62,01,168 patients have recovered and returned home across the state. As a result, the recovery rate in the state is 96.87 per cent. The total number of patients who have contracted the disease in the state is now 64,01,213. So, a total of 1,35,255 COVID-19 sufferers have died in the state. At present, the death rate in the state is 2.11 per cent.
