Navi Mumbai logs 53 new COVID-19 cases on January 12

New COVID-19 cases were found in Navi Mumbai taking the caseload up to 51,841 while 49,939 people have made a complete recovery from this disease.

Navi Mumbai reported 53 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, January 12 talking the tally up to 51,841. While 49,939 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, no deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,070. At present, 832 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Tuesday, seven new cases were found in Belapur, five in Nerul, 13 in Vashi, eight in Turbhe, nine in Koparkhairane, two in Ghansoli, nine in Airoli and two from Digha.

While, the recovered patients are 28 from Belapur, eight from Nerul, 16 from Vashi, eight from Turbhe, six from Koparkhairane, nine from Ghansoli, 17 from Airoli and two from Digha.

On Tuesday, January 12, Maharashtra recorded 2,936 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,74,488. Currently, there are 51,892 active cases in the state. With 3,282 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,71,270.

More than 50 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,151. While 2,27,876 persons are under home quarantine, 2,388 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.77 per cent, and 2.54 per cent respectively. In total 1,35,00,734 tests have been conducted in the state.

Meanwhile, India reported 15,968 new cases, 17,817 recoveries and 202 deaths taking the tally up to 1,04,95,147 on Tuesday, January 12. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,01,29,111 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,51,529 in the country. At present, there are 2,14,507 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,34,89,114 samples have been tested up to January 12.
