Navi Mumbai reported 54 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, January 21 talking the tally up to 52,429. While 50,527 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, one death has been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,078. At present, 824 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Thursday, seven new cases were found in Belapur, five in Nerul, 10 in Vashi, five in Turbhe, eight in Koparkhairane, three in Ghansoli and 16 in Airoli.

While, in regards to recovered patients 11 are from Belapur, 13 from Vashi, 14 from Turbhe, 14 from Koparkhairane, two from Ghansoli, 18 from Airoli and two from Digha.

On Thursday, January 21, Maharashtra recorded 2,886 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,00,878. Currently, there are 45,622 active cases in the state. With 3,980 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,03,408.

More than 52 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,634. While 2,12,023 persons are under home quarantine, 1,936 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.13 per cent, and 2.53 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 14,545 new cases, 18,002 recoveries and 163 deaths taking the tally up to 1,06,25,428 on Thursday, January 21. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,02,83,708 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,53,032 in the country. At present, there are 1,88,688 active cases. According to the ICMR, 19,01,48,024 samples have been tested up to January 19. So far, 10,43,534 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
