Navi Mumbai reported 60 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, December 29 talking the tally up to 50,851. While 48,913 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, two deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,048. At present, 890 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Tuesday, eight new cases were found in Belapur, 13 in Nerul, 10 in Vashi, three in Turbhe, five in Koparkhairane, nine in Ghansoli, 10 in Airoli and two in Digha.

While, the recovered patients are 17 from Belapur, 30 from Nerul, nine from Vashi, seven from Turbhe, six from Koparkhairane, six from Ghansoli and 71 from Airoli.

On Tuesday, December 29, Maharashtra recorded 3,018 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,25,066. Currently, there are 54,537 active cases in the state. With 5,572 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,20,021.

68 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 49,373. While 2,89,560 persons are under home quarantine, 3,204 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.54 per cent, and 2.56 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 20,550 new cases, 36,572 recoveries and 286 deaths taking the tally up to 1,02,44,853 on Tuesday, December 29. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 98,34,141 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,48,439 in the country. At present, there are 2,62,272 active cases. According to the ICMR, 17,09,22,030 samples have been tested up to December 29.
