An all-women team at the Mahim vaccination centre has inoculated over 1,000 citizens in three days. On Thursday, March 11, the vaccination centre, which is operated at the Mahim municipal maternity home premises, celebrated the moment by cutting a cake.

The centre was inaugurated on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8 every year. Coincidently, the first person to be vaccinated at the centre was a woman.

The centre is meant to benefit residents of Dadar and Mahim, many of who would otherwise go to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) jumbo vaccination centre.

Moreover, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Maharashtra government had set up five COVID-19 vaccination centres in each district of the state exclusively for inoculating women. These centres were operational only for the particular day.
