Considering the increasing number of tuberculosis patients, the BMC has decided to send their health officials to houses for an inspection. This check up will begin from August 1 to August 15 where 900,000 residents will be inspected and this will be done from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The BMC has chalked out 70 affected such areas for which team of 327 health civic officials will carry out the inspection.
If any person experiences cough for more than 14 days, if fever stays more than 2 weeks, having weight loss, then one should immediately visit a doctor. Patients can go to government hospitals as the check up is free,” Dr. Daksha Shah, Deputy Executive Health Officer.
Shah added the TB patients should complete the 6 months medicine course for better results.
