BMC Sanitation Workers Inaugurate Diabetes Clinic At Ghatkopar

40 free medical check-ups were conducted where CBC, blood sugar and Creatinine levels were examined and medical and dietary advice was given by doctors.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, on November 14, a state-of-the-art diabetes clinic was commenced at Zynova Shalby Hospital in Ghatkopar. The clinic was formally inaugurated at Ghatkopar N Ward by the personnel of the sanitation department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). During which, 40 free medical check-ups were conducted where CBC, blood sugar and Creatinine levels were examined and medical and dietary advice was given by doctors.

Irfan Qazi- Assistant Engineer, Solid Waste Management Department, Suryakant Satpute-Deputy Engineer, Swapnil Sarang-Junior Supervisor from Mumbai Municipal Corporation (N Ward) were present. Sanjay Sonawane, Assistant Commissioner, N Ward -BMC and Dr. Shivaji Dubey CAO of Zynova Shalby Hospital provided insightful guidance to this project.  

Ashish Sharma, Business Head, Zynova Shalby Hospital, said, " If you want to control your diabetes, you need to check your blood sugar level regularly. We have started a state-of-the-art diabetes clinic at Zynova Shalby Hospital, consisting of diabetics, ophthalmologists, dieticians and kidney specialists, who are involved in the fight against diabetes. We will conduct regular diabetes check-ups and further medical guidance for Mumbai Police, Municipal Corporation, BEST and ST service providers, as part of this we have conducted free health check-ups for sanitation envoys working in Ghatkopar division." "All the workers of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation's Solid Waste Department had played a pivotal role in the coronavirus epidemic felicitated on this occasion," mentioned Sharma.
