Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim which once upon a time were hotspots, now have a mere total of 85 active patients, cite reports. The positive ramifications of measures such as testing as many people as possible, immediate diagnosis and appropriate treatment have been witnessed in the said areas.

The North division of the Municipal Corporation is now on the path of being free from the coronavirus due to the declining morbidity. Although during the second wave, the number of patients in Dharavi was witnessing an upward trend, the incidence there was lower than that in other parts of the city. When more than 100 cases were being registered daily in Dadar and Mahim, the number of tests conducted was also increased.

Shopkeepers, hawkers and citizens of the said areas were tested, immediately diagnosed and segregated. Likewise, all of Dharavi’s citizens were re-examined. Owing to this, it is claimed that the infection rate in these three areas is now 0.02%.

Zero infected patients have been reported 11 times in Dharavi so far, whilst two covid-19 cases were found in Dharavi and one each in Mahim and Dadar on Monday.

Similarly, vaccine doses given at private hospitals in Mumbai is double that of those in public centres in August, state reports. According to accounts, BMC’s data highlights that whilst, private centres gave 5.7 lakh doses from August 1 to 15, centres run by the civic authority and the state government gave 2.9 lakh doses.
