The COVID-19 vaccination drive will resume at 285 centres in the state on Tuesday, January 19, for straight days, said Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

As per the information received, vaccination will be conducted at nine centres in Mumbai. Around 4,000 people will be vaccinated on daily basis in Mumbai Municipal Corporation areas.

According to reports, Tope had cited technical glitches in Co-WIN application for the cancellation of the drive. The Co-WIN mobile application has been created by the Centre for managing registration for the inoculation. The nationwide vaccine drive against coronavirus began on January 16 for three crore people on priority.

After Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope's statement earlier on the cancellation of COVID-19 vaccination drive till Monday, January 18, he has now said that the second session would be conducted on Tuesday, January 19. The MVA government has issued a clarification saying the exercise was not planned for Sunday and Monday, and "thus there was no question of a cancellation".

He added it was likely that all four sessions allowed in a week would be wrapped up in four straight days.

Two people have been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after vaccination. One person had low blood pressure and the other had other problems. Both have been admitted to the hospital and their condition is now said to be stable. In addition, more than 200 minor complaints have been received. These include fever, body aches and simple acne. So far, no one has been seriously affected, the administration said.
